Heading up our drone practice group is patent attorney Eric Hanscom, whose drone photography and videography have won accolades in several drone photography contests and have appeared on CNN, as AUVSI’s centerspread, and in numerous other newspapers and magazines. His video “The Ladder Side of Drones” about using drones to do roof inspections in Buddhist Temples in Thailand won a Personal Stories award from DJI. Eric is a regular in the top five Top Pilots ranking on Dronestagram, the leading website for drone photography, and was recently honored with the #1 Top Pilot Interview by Dronestagram. He had spoken on drone law and the intellectual property aspects of the drone business at trade shows and conventions on three continents, and more recently at the California State Bar’s Intellectual Property meeting in Rancho Mirage. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Eric was a US, European, and World Champion kayaker, and currently splits time between his Carlsbad, California office and Thai-West Resort in Thailand.
